Young Adult Innovation Hub
Thanks to a generous grant from Lilly Endowment, the Thriving in Ministry Initiative has partnered with Chicago-based Iskali, an organization that empowers and equips young Latinos with high-quality faith formation that enables them to become transformational leaders, to strengthen Hispanic communities, and create cultures of affiliation at the parish level.
This partnership is an opportunity to highlight the best of both organizations in service of a mutually enriching mission for the Church while addressing the particular needs of first, second, and third generation Hispanics in the United States.
University of Notre Dame
MICL staff meet with Iskali leaders advising them on the formation offered to young adult leaders. Iskali, in turn, partners with Catholic parishes in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana to re-envision their ministry to Hispanic young adults. This model will be used as a pilot for implementation at additional parishes across the county.
The McGrath Institute provides expertise in the areas of research, curriculum design, coaching, teaching, and network access. The goal is to help Iskali fine-tune its outreach methodology in a way that best meets the Hispanic Church’s unique pastoral challenges.
