Seminary Renewal Project
The Seminary Renewal Project at the McGrath Institute for Church Life is helping shape the future of priestly formation by partnering with seminaries to strengthen their formation programs for the needs of today's Church. Drawing on sociological research and theological formation, the project develops benchmarks, research, and practical resources that support healthy seminary culture and the holistic formation of future priests.
Among its contributions, the project equips seminary formators with core competencies for accompanying victim-survivors of clergy sexual abuse and others who have experienced trauma. This research supports seminaries in forming priests who are prepared to lead with integrity, compassion, and pastoral wisdom, fostering trust and healing within the communities they serve.
