Program Responsibilities:

As one of the Associate Directors of Echo, I primarily work within the realms of student formation and the administration of the program's formational curriculum. In particular, I tend to work with the Echo Theology Teachers, though I also have some involvement with the Parish Apprentice track as well. Additionally, I am responsible for overseeing the intellectual formation component of the program, working in tandem with the MA in Theology to ensure that students' theological education is represented and integrated into other areas of the broader formation curriculum.

Bio:

Growing up, I spent long stints in Phoenix, Arizona and South Bend, Indiana. In 2015, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Theology from Notre Dame, and after graduating, I spent 2 years serving the Catholic Church in Dublin, Ireland through a ministry program called the House of Brigid. Over the years, I spent time in seminary formation with the Congregation of Holy Cross, taught theology in high school and middle school contexts, and worked as a freelance marketing consultant for an insurance company. Eventually, I returned to Notre Dame for my Masters of Theological Studies, which I completed in 2022. Recently, I began efforts towards a part-time PhD in Systematic Theology at Notre Dame. My wife Megan and I live in South Bend with our sons, Timothy and Patrick. In my free time, I enjoy reading mystery novels, cooking, running, playing piano, indulging in all things Irish (especially Guinness!), beer tasting, and frequenting South Bend’s restaurant scene.

Why Echo?

I enjoy the intentionality and genuineness with which I get to accompany young people who desire to serve Christ and his Church with their lives. Forming our students across a variety of different dimensions is a great joy and gift, and something which I try hard never to take for granted. Having the privilege of walking alongside many of our theology teachers and parish apprentices over the last few years has deepened my own sense of commitment to serving the Church, and my trust in the loving provision of Jesus for those who minister in his name. I am excited to continue forming the future of the American Church's leaders through this program!
