PROCLAIM! at the Institute for Church Life offers an Enrichment Workshop for volunteer ministers who serve their parish as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Our goal is to foster among liturgical ministers a deeper theological understanding of the Eucharist and their special part in both the liturgical celebration and the evangelization of our secular culture.

Prof. Keith Egan, Aquinas Chair in Catholic Theology Emeritus, St. Mary’s College, will explore the mystery of the Eucharist and the Eucharistic celebration.

Prof. Timothy O’Malley, Director of the Center for Liturgy at the Institute for Church Life, will explain the special role of the Eucharistic Minister both in the liturgy and in the Church’s call for a new evangelization.

Rev. Thomas Jones, C.S.C., pastor of Sacred Heart parish at Notre Dame, will illuminate elements of the Diocesan norms for Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and welcome your questions concerning your role in the liturgy.

The event will conclude with the celebration of the Eucharist.

Participation in this workshop fulfills the annual diocesan formation requirement for volunteer ministers.

Registration required, please respond by October 15, 2014.

Childcare offered on request.
