Julia King joined the McGrath Institute staff in the Spring of 2024 as the Associate Director for Notre Dame Vision. In her role, she facilitates the Vision conference for high school students and walks with Mentors-In-Faith in their formation as witnesses and disciples of Christ.

Born and raised in Houston, Julia then moved to San Antonio, Texas where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Religious Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word with a focus in Pastoral Ministry. There, Julia served in roles in campus ministry, youth ministry, and formation for lay ecclesial ministers. She then went on to study in the Master of Divinity program at the University of Notre Dame where she pastorally accompanied college students as an Assistant Rector for Residential Life and spent a summer at the Texas-Mexico border working with migrant families through Catholic Charities. Passionate about walking with youth and families in the Hispanic community to hand on the Catholic faith to our younger generations, Julia worked at St. Adalbert Parish in South Bend, IN as the Director of Youth Ministry preparing youth for Confirmation and creating spaces for them to encounter God working in their lives.

In her M.Div. formation, Julia researched patterns of disaffiliation among young people. She is particularly interested in accompanying young people in their process of living out their baptism as members of the Church and the theological and pastoral implications of what it means to be the Church.

Julia also enjoys discovering new coffee shops, traveling with her husband Alejandro, eating good Tex-Mex food, and watching baseball with her family.
