Alejandra serves as the Program Associate for STEP and Camino online theology programs through the McGrath Institute.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Alejandra received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Incarnate Word and a Masters of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. Before attending Notre Dame, Alejandra served for seven years as a middle school religious education coordinator at her home parish. Throughout her studies in the MDiv program, Alejandra served the Hispanic community in South Bend and worked as a graduate assistant for STEP and Camino.

Alejandra has a deep admiration and love for her Mexican culture and faith traditions passed down by her family, which has inspired her to pass down the faith to today’s younger generation. During graduate school, Alejandra researched the celebration of the Quinceañera and founded Bendecida XV, a ministry that provides online resources in Spanish and English for pastoral ministers, parents, and young Latinas preparing to celebrate a Quinceañera. Bendecida XV is a 2021 finalist in the OSV Innovation Challenge.

In her free time, Alejandra enjoys baking chocoflan and arroz con leche.
