Anthony Pagliarini
Anthony Pagliarini grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and went on to study theology and philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. After graduation, he moved to Belize, where he taught high school in a Catholic mission parish run by The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). He then moved to Rome for a year, where he studied theology at the Angelicum and worked as a pilgrimage guide in the Vatican Necropolis (the “Scavi”).
Anthony earned a Master’s degree at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria. After finishing his degree, he stayed in Gaming for a year to help run Ave Maria University’s Austrian Campus. He then returned to Rome to study at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (the “Biblicum”), during which time he resumed his work in the Vatican and with the American-based pilgrimage company Youth in Europe (now JMJ Youth Pilgrimages).
He married his wife, Katie, in 2010, and returned to Notre Dame to begin doctoral work. In 2015 he was awarded his doctorate. Anthony and Katie live in South Bend with their four children. They both teach in the Department of Theology at Notre Dame, where Anthony is also the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies. He is a Fellow of the Word on Fire Institute.
