Reflections on a Shared Pilgrimage Through Uganda and Rwanda

Featuring

Fr. Emmanuel Katongole

Associate professor of theology and peace studies

Notre Dame pilgrims (faculty, staff, students)

Last summer (July 28-August 11, 2014), Fr. Emmanuel Katongole led a group of Notre Dame faculty, staff and students on a "Pilgrimage of Pain and Hope" through Uganda and Rwanda.

The pilgrimage included visits to places of historical significance (the source of the Nile, Genocide memorials); religious shrines (Uganda Martyrs, Kibeho Marian Shrine); cultural destinations (Queen Elizabeth National Game Park, Ndele cultural center); and meetings with leaders at Holy Cross missions in Uganda, St. Jude's farm, and others involved in peace and justice work in Uganda and Rwanda.

Notre Dame faculty, staff, students: Join us to hear Fr. Emmanuel and the pilgrims reflect on their experiences in Uganda and Rwanda, sharing photos and stories. We invite you to ask questions and consider how you might join or support the pilgrimage in 2015.
