Mathis Liturgical Leadership Program

Empowering Ecclesial Leaders to Create Eucharistic Culture

Through cohort-based education, formation, and research, the Mathis Liturgical Leadership Program (MLLP) empowers ecclesial leaders to create cultures rooted in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church. The MLLP takes to heart the Second Vatican Council’s vision of the liturgy as “the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed” and “the font from which all her power flows” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 10).

Named for Holy Cross priest Fr. Michael Mathis, C.S.C., the MLLP includes three initiatives: the Eucharistic Culture Project, Savoring the Mystery, and Contours of Wonder, which attend respectively to transforming liturgical life, renewing Catholic preaching, and reimagining liturgical formation. Taken together, these three initiatives draw upon the research and resources of the academy in order to address some of the most urgent needs in the Church today.
