Descripción
La Santa Eucaristía es un Misterio de Misterios. En la Eucaristía, Dios restaura una relación fracturada por el pecado original. No por iniciación ni por exigencia de la criatura, sino del creador, Dios instituye una nueva vida, una nueva oportunidad para ser sujetos de su amor puro y divino. A través de la Eucaristía, nos unimos más estrechamente a Cristo en su promesa de salvación, y en su entrega de amor a Dios Padre. En la Eucaristía conmemoramos la pasión y muerte de Cristo, la celebración de la Fe en la que Él resucitó.
Este curso con el Monseñor Daniel E. Flores, S.T.D. es una introducción al misterio de la Eucaristía en la vida de la Iglesia. Se abordarán temas generales que les caminarán por el sacramento dentro de la liturgia y se repasará el significado de la presencia real de Cristo como parte de la obra de Dios. Este curso les invita a reconocer la Eucaristía como fuente de nuestra fe, para poder ser agentes y partícipes de la evangelización a la cual nos llama Jesús.

Requisitos del Curso
- Lecturas semanales de textos y otros recursos asignados
- Participación en discusiones de las clases utilizando el área de Módulos
- Tareas semanales (entre 150 y 200 palabras)
- Reunión semanal en Zoom con el facilitador y otros estudiantes
Tiempo Necesario para el Curso
- 4 a 6 horas por semana (esto varía dependiendo de su horario y estilo de aprendizaje)
Certificado del Curso
- Recibirá un certificado de aprobación por 35 horas realizadas una vez que cumpla con los requisitos del curso.
Mons. Daniel Flores, S.T.D.
Monseñor Flores recibió la licenciatura en filosofía, y la maestría en divinidad del Seminario Holy Trinity, institución asociada a la Universidad de Dallas. Completó sus preparaciones para el sacerdocio en 1988. En 1995 fue nombrado Capellán de Su Santidad por el Papa Juan Pablo II, con el título honorífico de Monseñor. En 1997 realizó sus estudios en la Universidad Pontificia de Santo Tomas de Aquino en Roma. En el año 2000, completó sus estudios y recibió su doctorado en Teología Sagrada (S.T.D.).
En el 2001 sirvió como formador de sacerdotes en el Seminario Mayor de la Arquidiócesis de Galveston-Houston (Saint Mary’s Seminary). Simultáneamente, se incorporó como profesor en la escuela de Teología de la Universidad de Santo Tomas en Houston, Texas. En diciembre del 2009, el Papa Benedicto XVI nombró a Monseñor Flores el Sexto Obispo de la Diócesis de Brownsville, Texas y fue instalado en esta diócesis el 2 de febrero de 2010 en la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de San Juan del Valle – Santuario Nacional, convirtiéndolo en el tercer nativo de Texas que ha servido como obispo del Valle del Rio Grande.
Es miembro de la Conferencia Estadounidense de Obispos Católicos (USCCB), y presidente de Comité de Diversidad Cultural en la Iglesia. Además, es miembro de: el Comité para el Culto Divino, Comité Ad Hoc de Libertad Religiosa, Sub-Comité Actividades Pro-Vida, y el Comité de Asuntos Ecuménicos e Interreligiosos. Adicionalmente, sirve en la mesa directiva de Catholic Relief Services (CRS), el brazo caritativo de los obispos estadounidenses para la asistencia internacional.
Originario de Palacios, Texas es hijo de padres mexicanos y obispo de Brownsville, Texas, la diócesis más grande en los Estados Unidos.

Course Description
The Holy Eucharist is a Mystery of Mysteries. In the Eucharist, God restores a relationship fractured by original sin. However, not by initiation or by requirement of the creature, but of the creator, God, institutes a new life, a new opportunity to be subjects of God's pure and divine love. Through the Eucharist, we are more closely united to Christ in his promise of salvation, and in his loving surrender to God the Father. In the Eucharist we commemorate the passion and death of Christ, the celebration of Faith in which He rose.
This course prepared by the Most Reverend Daniel E. Flores, S.T.D. is an introduction to the mystery of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. General themes will be addressed that will walk them through the sacrament within the liturgy and will review the meaning of the real presence of Christ as part of God's work. This course invites you to recognize the Eucharist as the source of our faith, in order to be agents and participants in the evangelization to which Jesus calls us.

Mons. Daniel Flores, S.T.D.
Most Reverend Daniel Flores received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a master's degree in divinity from Holy Trinity Seminary, an institution associated with the University of Dallas. He completed his preparations for the priesthood in 1988. In 1995 he was named Chaplain of Holiness for him by Pope John Paul II, with the honorary title of Monsignor. He completed his studies at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. In the year 2000, he completed his studies and received his Doctorate in Sacred Theology (S.T.D.).
In 2001 he served as a priest educator at the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Major Seminary (Saint Mary ’s Seminary). Simultaneously, he became a professor at the University of Santo Tomas School of Theology in Houston, Texas. In December 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Flores the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Brownsville, Texas and he was installed in this diocese on February 2, 2010 in the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle – National Shrine, making him the third Texan native to serve as Bishop of the Rio Grande Valley.
He is a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), and chairman of the Committee on Cultural Diversity in the Church. In addition, he is a member of: the Committee for Divine Worship, Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty, Sub-Committee on Pro-Life Activities, and the Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the charitable arm of the US bishops for international relief.
Originally from Palacios, Texas, he is the son of Mexican parents and Bishop of Brownsville, Texas, the largest diocese in the United States.
