Patricia C. Bellm serves as the grant finance manager at the McGrath Institute for Church Life.

She was born in Heidelberg, Germany, and has lived in France, Belgium, the U.S., and Mexico. After a previous career as a chemical engineer and chemist, Patricia accepted the invitation to study theology at the University of Notre Dame. As a scientist and a theologian, her unique perspective helped her to illuminate the detrimental impact that unchallenged claims of incompatibility between science and faith had on Christian stewardship in research and engineering projects. In 2017, she received from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven a Master Degree in Law, Society, and Religion summa cum laude, the first step towards a Licentiate in Canon Law.

Patricia has been married to her husband, Harald, for 33 years. Last year, the two became empty nesters, with their oldest daughter Charlotte married and living in Washington, D.C., and the two younger ones close by - Sebastian was admitted to the Notre Dame Law School and Annalena majors in Civil Engineering at Our Lady's University, with a minor in German and Business. The family loves traveling, sailing and spending as much time together as they can.
