John Lindblom, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of the Practice

At the McGrath Institute for Church Life, John Lindblom works to support the Catholic Church in China, both in its efforts to train leaders in theological studies and to provide resources for teachers and ministers working with Chinese and other international students.

John received his Ph.D. in World Religions World Church (theology), at the University of Notre Dame. His dissertation examines connections between Chinese humanism and Christian spirituality in the work of Chinese scholar John C. H. Wu (Wu Jingxiong, 吳經熊), especially in Wu’s classical Chinese Bible translation. He received his M.A. International Studies (China) at the Henry M. Jackson School at the University of Washington, with a focus on the Catholic Church in China. He has worked and traveled in China and around east Asia.

Raised in Seattle, Washington, John enjoys all things outdoors and exploring with his wife Audrey and their daughter.
